B'nai Mitzvah

Most of the children in the Fabrangen Cheder School choose to prepare to become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, although families need not commit to this coming-of-age ritual. Because the School maintains no formal affiliation with a congregation or rabbi, each bar or bat mitzvah ceremony is crafted individually to suit the child. Typically, a Hebrew tutor is secured and a rabbi of the family’s choosing officiates over the ceremony. The entire Cheder looks forward to celebrating this accomplishment, which marks the passage of Jewish knowledge and spirit to a new generation! By tradition, Cheder families stand ready to help provide food and music for these joyous occasions. We consider ourselves fortunate that many of our students, and their families, choose to remain as active participants in the Fabrangen Cheder Community after B’nai Mitzvah.
